Carolyn G. Curtis speaks with college students, coaches, staff, teachers, high school students, and parents about the personal impact of rape as a secondary survivor. One of Carolyn’s daughters was the victim of extreme rape in college, which has had an enormous impact on her daughter, on Carolyn, and the rest of their family. Another daughter was the victim of rape in high school. Motivated to help survivors and to prevent rape, Carolyn shares her story as the mother of two rape survivors to engage boys and men to help end sexual violence. In so doing, she encourages them to be their best selves.
Carolyn has spoken to a variety of groups including college students and college staff, domestic violence offenders in a probation group, at trainings for Sexual Assault Victim Advocates, to groups of sexual and domestic violence survivors, a fundraiser, and at conferences.
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Carolyn travels to do in-person events.
